Mexico City || What a trip!

(EN) As I told you on the last post, last weekend I went to Mexico City (CDMX). It was a trip I made with my mother, the best company forever when traveling. My stay in this amazing city was pretty vertiginous; we visited plenty of restaurants. Every restaurant was magnificent; each one had different decoration, atmosphere, and a distinguished style.  These experiences made of this trip an everlasting memory with good moments, that I really wish to share them with you. Precisely, one of those experiences is related with the Restaurant named "Rincón Argentino", situated in Presidente Masarik, in Polanco. I will talk more about this restaurant later on.

Day 1- We arrived to Mexico City around 8:00 am, so we had breakfast at a place named "Sanborns". Those who live in Mexico or have been here must know this place, but if not, it is a chain which sells many and varied articles from national and international brands; sometimes, they also sell chocolates with unique shapes. What's more, in most of the Sanborns establishments, we can find a restaurant. This time, we visited the famous Sanborns "La Casa de Los Azulejos". This place is really beautiful and interesting that even they gave me a pamphlet which has the history of this place. If you didn't know, in the XVIth Century it was better known as the "Blue Palace". I surely recommend you this place; such a great spot to spend time.

(ES) Como te mencioné en la última entrada, el fin de semana pasado fui a la Ciudad de México. Fue un viaje que hice al lado de mi mamá; la mejor compañía cuando se viaja. Mi estancia en esta ciudad fue bastante vertiginosa; visitamos bastantes restaurantes, cada uno magnífico, con un ambiente, decoración y estilo totalmente distintos. Estas experiencias hicieron que este viaje en particular me haya dejado muchos buenos momentos y recuerdos, que deseo compartirlos con ustedes. Precisamente, una de esas experiencias tiene que ver con el Restaurante "Rincón Argentino", ubicado en Presidente Masarik, en Polanco. Hablaré a detalle sobre este restaurante más adelante.

Día 1- LLegamos a la CDMX alrededor de las 8:00 am, por ende desayunamos en un espacio cuyo nombre es "Sanborns". Aquellos que viven en México o han viajado ahí, deben conocer este lugar, pero si no, es una cadena que tiene en venta varios artículos de marcas nacionales e internacionales; aveces, también tienen en venta chocolates con figuras muy únicas. Además, en la mayoría de los establecimientos de Sanborns, podemos encontrar un restaurante. Esta vez, fuimos al famoso Sanborns "La Casa de Los Azulejos". Este lugar es realmente bello e interesante, que incluso me dieron un folleto que contiene la historia de este lugar. Si no sabías, en el siglo XVI era mejor conocido como el "Palacio Azul". Realmente te recomiendo este lugar; un muy buen sitio para pasar el tiempo.

(EN) We kept walking along the streets (around the famous Madero Avenue or better known as Avenida Madero); we bought some stuff, such as books and coffee. After many hours walking, my stomach started making weird sounds... what did that mean? I knew I was hungry, therefore we decided to go to the Argentinean restaurant. As I already told you, this restaurant is located in Polanco, one of the fanciest areas of Mexico City. Being in Polanco was worth it, except for the fact that we took the "subway" to arrive there. Being on the subway was pretty stressful, I just don't like being surrounded by many people. My mom decided to take this public transport because she wanted me to live a different and a new experience and to admire the magnificent engineering construction; because, I'll be honest... you really save money and time, and specially in big cities like this one. After 15 minutes spent on the metro/subway, we finally arrived to our destination. Take a look at what we had in this amazing restaurant:

(ES) Continuamos caminando alrededor de las calles (la famosa Avenida Madero); compramos unas cuantas cosas, como libros y café. Después de varias horas caminando, mi estómago empezó a hacer sonidos extraños...¿qué significó eso? Sabía que estaba hambrienta, por lo tanto, decidimos ir al restaurante Argentino. Como ya te mencioné, este restaurante está ubicado en Polanco, una de las áreas más lujosas de CDMX. Estar en Polanco valió la pena, excepto por el hecho de que tomamos el "metro" para llegar ahí. Estar en el metro fue muy estresante, simplemente no me gusta estar rodeada de muchas personas. Mi mamá decidió tomar ese transporte público porque ella quería que yo viviera una nueva y diferente experiencia y admirar la magnífica obra de ingeniería; porque, seré honesta... sí se ahorra tiempo y dinero, y más en ciudades tan grandes como esta. Después de 15 minutos pasados en este transporte, llegamos a nuestro destino. Echa un vistazo a lo que nos ofreció este maravilloso restaurante:

They bread table was sublime, principally for its cranberry bread/La tabla de pan era excelsa, principalmente por su pan de arándano

Tomato sauce and vinaigrette/Salsa de tomate y vinagreta

Shrimp turnover as a starter (It was delightful)/Empanada de camarón como entrada (Estaba deliciosa)

Neapolitan turnover, which had cheese, olives, and was covered in tomato sauce/Empanada Napolitana, la cual tenía queso, aceitunas, y estaba bañada en salsa de tomate

Breaded chicken breast, french fries, potato purée, and vegetables. (Mom's dish)/Milanesa de pollo, papas a la francesa, puré de papa y vegetales (Platillo de mi mamá)

Grilled chicken breast. Best chicken plate I have ever tried so far./ Pechuga de pollo al grill. El mejor platillo de pollo que he probado hasta ahora

 Smooth chocolate cake. I love enjoying desserts after a big meal, what about you?/Tibio de chocolate. Me encanta disfrutar postres después de un plato grande, ¿y tú?

(EN) In effect, they served us pretty generous plates, but that didn't stop me from drinking coffe later in the afternoon. A very highly recommended restaurant. You must visit this place the next time you come to Mexico City. I could remember being in the terrace and seeing the street landscape. It was breathtaking!. Streets full of trees, beautiful buildings, pedestrians, and of course, more restaurants. I could feel such a fine air. 

As soon as we finished our meal, we walked around Polanco streets for like an hour. We visited a book store which name is "Ghandi", where I bought a book about Germany (this book contains helpful information for tourists, that I really hope to visit that magnificent country in the future).

(ES) En efecto, nos sirvieron platos muy generosos, pero eso no me limitó para tomarme un café más tarde. Un restaurante altamente recomendado. Debes visitar este lugar la próxima vez que vengas a CDMX. Puedo recordar estar en la terraza y experimentar una bella vista. ¡Era impresionante!. Calles con bastante naturaleza, grandes edificios, peatones, y claro, más restaurantes. Pude sentir un aire muy fino.
Caminamos por las calles de Polanco, alrededor de una hora. Visitamos una librería, cuyo nombre es "Ghandi", donde compré un libro sobre Alemania (este libro contiene información útil para los turistas, que espero yo un día poder visitar tan maravilloso país).

(EN) Day 2- We had breakfast at this restaurant named "Toks". Everything was so delicious, and pretty well served. I will let the pictures speak by themselves.
After finishing breakfast, my day was going great until... I went to Starbucks, and when they gave me my coffee I realized they wrote my name incorrectly. My name is Julissa, and guess what they wrote? "Ulisa" 😖 it is like the female version of "Ulises". But, on second thoughts, it was actually funny😂 I will keep that Starbucks cup. Officially, I am Ulisa😎

(ES) Día 2- Desayunamos en este restaurante llamado "Toks". Todo estaba delicioso, y muy bien servido. Dejaré que las imágenes hablen por sí solas.
Después de haber desayunado, mi día iba bien, hasta que... fui a Starbucks, y cuando me dieron mi café, me dí cuenta de que escribieron mi nombre incorrectamente. Mi nombre es Julissa, y, ¿adivinen qué escribieron? "Ulisa"😖 es como la versión femenina de "Ulises". Pero, pensándolo bien, de hecho fue gracioso😂 guardaré ese vaso de Starbucks. Oficialmente, soy Ulisa😎

(EN) Later, we visited a mom's friend. We lasted there like 4 hours. When we left her house, we were hungry. So we, lastly, visited our last one destination: "Gino's", what a name, uh? Thinking in putting that name to my future cat one day😎. Gino's is an italian restaurant, and I'm pretty obsessed with Italy. So you can imagine how happy I was😆. 

(ES) Más tarde, visitamos a una amiga de mi mamá. Duramos ahí como 4 horas. Cuando nos fuimos de su hogar, estábamos hambrientas. Así qué, finalmente, fuimos a nuestro último destino: "Gino's", qué nombre, uh? Pensando en ponerle ese nombre a mi futuro gato algún día😎. Gino's es un restaurante italiano, y estoy bastante obsesionada con Italia. Así que ya te podrás imaginar lo feliz que estaba😆.

(EN)What a Trip! uh? I really loved it. Can't wait to visit more cities later. I love traveling. These are the books I bought. They both are in English, so I have to say it was a pretty challenging decision but worth it. They will help me to improve my English and learn new words.

(ES)¡Qué viaje! uh? Realmente lo amé. Estoy muy ansiosa por visitar nuevas ciudades después. Estos son los libros que compré. Ambos están en Inglés, así que debo decir que fue una decisión muy desafiante, pero valió la pena. Me ayudarán a mejorar mi Inglés y aprender nuevas palabras.
